Mastering The Water-to-Rice Ratio for Fluffy, Delicious Rice
5.
" Hello Everyone, I’m Jason from Windspro, responsible for product development and testing of our rice cookers."
Today, I’d like to share how to cook perfect rice using a rice cooker. Whether you’re an experienced cook or just beginning to incorporate rice into your meals,
getting the rice-to-water ratio right can feel tricky. Let’s simplify it together!
1. The Perfect Rice-to-Water Ratio
Here are the basic guidelines provided by our labs:
For one cup of fresh rice: Use 1.2 cups of water.
For one cup of aged rice: Use 1.4 cups of water.
For more precise measurements, the ideal ratio is about 1 kg of rice to 1.25-1.35 kg of water.
Does this sound a bit complex? Let’s explore an intuitive method commonly used in Chinese cooking.
2. Traditional Chinese Method
"
In traditional Chinese cooking, there’s an easy way to measure water:
After rinsing the rice (usually 2-3 times), add water until it’s about a finger-width above the rice layer (approximately 2-3 cm).
This method is simple, effective, and ensures perfectly cooked rice every time."
